Angry Turbo Failed Exhaust Manifold Cracked

the turbo in my 2008 failed two weeks ago when they removed it the housing was cracked and along with that a crack in the exhaust manifold prior to the removal our mechanic sealed the oil and coolant hoses and ran it the car idles perfectly and it drives fine but no power due to lack of boost from failed turbo we are trying to determine the best course of action for repairing the problem parts from reliable sources are almost $3,000 i have seen replacement engines for $2,500 has anyone else gone through this we contacted a wholesaler who offered $700 for the car as is I don't think that's realistic we are open to any suggestions fellow owners may have has anyone else purchased parts from turbo charger pros the quotes we are getting from our shop are $1,700 for the turbo replacement and $700 for the exhaust manifold if we can get a complete engine for under $3000 why wouldn't we go with that option instead

You know that shops don't charge what they pay for parts? I have known places that paid wholesale and charged 2X retail + labor.
Other places charge 2X labor if you bring your own parts.

Contact/PM Powermizer I believe he has all the parts you will need. I bought his valve springs, good person to work with.

Look at this post

Good luck - same thing happened to me with my 2010 Auto SS back in November. Because I plan on keeping my SS for the life of me, I bought an LDK motor w/ k04 turbo from ZZP for a little over $2000 (it was their black friday deal).

Check to make sure you don't have metallic shavings in the oil. If you don't see any when you check the dipstick you should be okay.
