urgent help needed.....installled clutch....car won't start
sorry for the long post but here's the deal.....installed my ky stg 3 today and when we put everything back together the car wouldn't start. figured out that the power wire that should go to the starter got ran back to the fuse panel...the wire that should have gone to the fuse panel was dangling and when i found it i didnt know what it was (was just tracing wires) and it touched the block and arced. we disconnected the negative from the battery again and ran the wires correctly. still didn't start. the relay marked pwr/trn is clicking...did this on the inital start and after we reran the wires. we swapped relays, checked all the fuses....still nothing. we tested the battery which is a little weak it read 11.4 volts and when we tested the power wires on the fuse panel we got nothing. we obviously tried jumping it and had it hooked up the whole time we tried to start the car. i finally had to leave it and go home....luckiily my friend loaned me a vehicle....and as i left i unhooked the jumper cables and shut the liftgate on the hhr and now the vehicle has absolutely zero power and the liftgate won't open cause its an electronic lock
if anyone has any ideas to help the diagnosis for tomorrow PLEASE...PLEASE SHARE!!!!!!!

The relay you hear clicking is the Electric Power Steering relay energizing when you turn the key, its supposed to do that, but its unrelated to your no-start issue.
When you get back to the HHR tomorrow, check the ECM/TCM control module fuse in position #25 of the under-dash fuse panel located in the passenger side foot well. Hopefully its blown, if it is, replace it. If not, then things may get worse.
Once you've reconnected the jumper cables so you have power to open the hatch, disconnect and charge the battery. When the battery is fully charged, reconnect it and check for clicking on the relay in position #34 in the under-hood fuse box, that's the starting system relay.
Assuming you've checked the under dash fuse, charged the battery, and checked for clicking at the relay under the hood and you're still having a no-start condition. You may have "spiked" the ECM requiring its replacement.
Shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I can send you a PDF with the appropriate section of the service manual in the morning when I get into my office.

ok well i had a fuse out in the inside panel that we replaced then still nothing. the car would start but when you pressed the accelerator pedal wouldn't rev and the dic displayed "reduced engine power" but was getting 4 codes...3 relating to trottle posoition sensor i unplugged the ecu harness....again as i did this 4 times last night.....and found a small piece of plastic that was prohibiting the harness from seating completely. the car started right up after removing the little piece of plastic and reconnecting everything....pressed the throttle and vrooom....
