I live about 3,000 Km from the Durham region. Dom's is not a convenient place to shop for me.

I’ve had less brake dust with the PowerStop
Bosch pads squealed, a lot of dust too.
Duralast pads, also dust and squealing

Why is someone recommending to look in a junkyard for brake pads and rotors ? Replacements are available from many vendors for the SS. Not like it's a hard to find item.

I use Raybestos Element 3 pads on all my other cars (5 of them), except my SS with Brembo brakes. They are very good pads that perform well and don't dust a lot.

On my daughter's non-Brembo SS, I also use the Raybestos Element 3. I like them a lot. Also reasonably priced at Rock Auto.

So I'm looking at Rotors as well. Are the Brembo brake rotors 12.4" diameter and the non-brembo brake SS calipers 11.6" diameter? Looking at the Raybestos Element3 580184F7N.

Is it better to get coated rotors? Do they actually rust less than non-coated or is that just smoke and mirrors? They do throw salt on the roads up here so rotors do rust here.

Bought the complete Power Stop set, rotors, pads and caliper pins. Mine has Brembos but there was a set listed for the non-Brembo SS.
Here is a pic of the rears. The rears are all the same on the SS, 2008-10.

As we see here there are different levels of brake kits from PowerStop to choose from, slotted and drilled rotors , different pads . I posts in post #8 a great little bit better then OEM rotor and pad kit, better for street use.
