What size rims do I need?

I have a 2009 HHR SS with 225/45/18 tires. I'd like to go to a 16" rim for the winter. I'm dumb on this. I think I want 16" rims with a 5-110 bolt pattern but I didn't know I needed a width too. What width do I want & is the width the same for the 18" & 16" wheels? Thanks, Pam

My stock tire size is 215/55/16.

Plug in your size and mine to see if they are the same diameter.

16 inch rim on a SS? I thought the rotor size was larger? Heck, if a 16 inch rim will work,I guess 16 inch nitto drags is a next mod

An SS with Brembos will not fit anything less than 18" wheels

Wrong, 17" are the smallest with Brembo's, here's a link to Cobalts SS/TC site that list the rims known to fit with Brembo's (some require spacers), Cobalt SS/TC use the exact size, bolt pattern and backspacing. Not all HHR SS's had Brembo's.

Pam, I PM'd you on this before I saw the post, Do you know if you have the Brembo brakes (performance package) on your car? If not you can go to 16"s. 5 X 110mm bolt pattern, with a 42mm offset and 7 1/2" wide, You can go a little narrower on the width if you go with a narrower tire.

Not to bring an old thread back to life but with winter just around the corner and me being a n00b SS owner... I was curious to know something.

I have a '09 SS w/ Brembo's and want to but on some steelies and Blizzaks for winter.

What offset do I need exactly???

Lug Pattern - 5 x 110
Diameter - 17"
Offset - ????

+40mm???

Thanks in advance!
