I don't mean to douse any excitement here, but you're probably not going to see the bar unless you're under the car.

I've seen it happen, but not to an HHR, and the guy was PISSED. I just put one on and haven't seen it when just looking at the SS.

Question Another question or two....

Hi Folks, What a long thread! This query is for folks that have installed the bar on a 2LT, and especially those who eventually added Cobalt SS/SC rear springs: What does adding the bar do to the ride? It adds a bit o' unspring rear weight, which would logically not help the ride (may be unnoticeable). Also, it would have to make the ride harsher in curves and when one wheel hits a bump or pothole. This is due to increasing the overall spring rate in either case by adding the bar. In straight ahead it shouldn't be an issue.

I like the idea of reducing understeer (NASCAR Speak = push) somewhat, and adding rear roll stiffness with a bar would do that. Here is another question: Doesn't adding rear lowering springs do somewhat the same thing (at the cost of a straight-ahead ride worsening)? I have been pondering a set of Cobalt SS/SC rear springs, which would drop and stiffen the back a little. This would logically also decrease rear roll and therefore understeer.

Does anyone have any direct comparisons for me. "Tried the new bar, loved it, handles swell" doesn't really tell me what I am looking for.

God Bless to all, Marc
