The pictures that me and SS fan put up are the HHR SS factory rims.
(the rims SS fan posted in post #10 are not)

Chevy only had 1 version of the SS rim. If the rims you're looking at are not the same as the ones we showed, then they're not HHR SS rims.
And, as stated before. SS rims are NOT chrome plated. They are polished aluminum with clearcoat.

Got a link to that craigslist ad? Might help to determine exactly what the rims are.

I like 235x45 best but, 245x40 and some 255x40 fit fine. Or you can do what Chevy did 225x45.
yup, theyre exactly like the ones i see there. he is asking for $300 for all 4. ive seen the price online for those rims and to be honest, 300 seems very cheap, hopefully nothing is wrong with them.

i guess the owner is misinformed on that they are not ss rims. but either way, i think it will really boost up the image to my hhr.. and to my company aswell. thank you for your reply

did you guys see a gas mileage drop when you put these on? I have a panel with 18" SS cobalt rims and I noticed a drop in MPGs vs my 16" steel wheels.

Welcome to the site!! that MPG issue prompted me to go with 16" steelies with a paint job for winter and Wheel Vintique Rally rims for the summer!

hello everyone.. i just came back from seeing the rims.. and ugh, im no at too happy. there was an issue with one of the rims. it had some bending to it on the lip. the owner assure me that mounting and balancing a tire on that rim wasnt going to be an issue. that he had driven his hhr that way, and they had just put extra weights on the rim to balance out that bend. i wasnt sure if to believe the guy or not.. so i told him that i was intrested in the rims, but obviously theres a concern about that particular rim.. and that if he wanted to close the deal, it was better of if we met at a tire shop, let the tire guy mount and balance the wheel..and if theres no issue than i would definetly buy it. i snapped two pictures for you guys to see. hopefully some of you guys can guide me into the right direction and let me know if its worth it or not buying these rims. can it be fix? if so, will it break my piggy bank? and lastly, can i just mount the tire and run the car with no issues with the rim being this way?

here's the pics:

Hard to say, with a visor that costs me 5mpg, I really don't care, if I want 30+ I take this one it gets 31 on the road...who would have thunk it ?

Boydie.....a different tire can make all the difference in that bump, bump, bump...... Like these are 235x45x18, gives more sidewall, rides much softer.

I am looking for tires for some rims I won last year. the rims are 18x8s, I was looking at 255/25/ZR/18s or 255/35 or 255/40.

Boyide, if you can find a decent tire shop or decent tire guy who knows what hes doing then you can certainly take out the stems and swap them ...but ive seen that most of them are hacks and end up breaking the stems.
so worse case scenario if they do break you can just replace them and they arent very expensive about $25 for a new one..just ask them to be gentle when removing them
