215-50-ZR-17 Continental Extreme Contact DWS Tires

Continental Extreme Contact DWS 215-50ZR-17: Has anyone heard anything about these tires? I have done some research on them and Consumer Reports gave them an outstanding rating. Tire Rack gives them a 5 star rating and they aren't as expensive as the GoodYears. My wife and I travel to Iowa in the winter and need a good contact tire for that area plus a wet weather tire too. Iowa is known for their winters. I also just recently visited a Chevy dealer an saw a 2010 Cobalt SS sporting a set of Continental Sport 2 tires on 18" wheels and they are wicked looking. Suggestions? help?

look through my posts. I put these on about a month ago. I have driven on dry, wet, snow and solid ice (and I mean SOLID ice, the entire road was covered) and they have performed outstanding.

i plan on doing a more extensive review of them soon since i have over 1k on them no.

A couple other members put them on right after me too, I think Goose was one of them.

To get the best price I could find. Go to treaddepot.com. Get the price on the tire you want and Print out the cart with the shipping on it as well for all 4 tires (they also had a coupon for an additional $25 off, i put that on the cart to before i printed it) Go to the discount tire website, sign up for their e-mail alerts. In a couple days they will send you a $25 off. Go to discount tire. See if they want to do anything special for you, take off install or anything, no dice for me. So then, had them price match them, and then the additional coupon off. I was at around $500 out of the door (discounts reg price was like $680ish). They was a rebate I sent in too, don't know if I will get it because it was for instock, and they had to order mine.

If you want to know anything else on them, ask. But yeah I love them so far, good grip in anything, especially in areas I know my firestones would have failed me.

I will say they are really responsive which kind of makes it on the e-way that you have to hold on a bit more. On windy days i feel like they want to pull a bit more side to side. But nothing huge.

I have 225/45-18 of these tires and have driven a good 1k miles since installation.

Driving in snow after putting these on was pure pleasure vs the old firehawks which virtually left me stranded.
I haven't gone to the extreme with testing these in rain but I pretty much drove the same as I do in dry weather and performance was great there too.

Had put a set on my girlfriend's all wheel drive BMW in the fall. They performed very well in a variety of conditions.
