New Tire time...Continental Extreme DWS??

Has anyone had any experience with this tire? Very attractive price and has great ratings at the tirerack....

Hi Goose,

Just put some of these on my girlfriend's BMW all wheel drive. The idea was a better all season tire. It came with ContiTouringContacts. I went for these based on the same reasons you are. We haven't tested them in snow yet, but initial impressions are good. Nice dry handling and feel, and wet weather performance is better than the stock ones. Should get more miles on them as well based on UTG ratings. Stock did about 40K and were totally done. I just ordered a set of snows from tirerack. Personally it suits me better to have dedicated seasonal tires. These look like a nice balance-wish I could give you more specific snow/ice info-maybe in another week or two.

Thanks, I think I will give these a shot...gotta be better in the snow than the OEM Firestones

Price and reviews are good so seems like a good deal...only negative I have heard is that some folks think the sidewall is too soft but then again they are pushing the tires to their limits with WRX's and other sportier cars.

Thanks again

Goose!

You cant go wrong with these tires, I was looking at them at Discount Tires also. they look good but it does depend on how much you drive. They would not last long for me as you know I drive 37,640 a year with my HHr and I have 115,259 mile on my HHr as if this evening.

Happy Holiday Goose Man

Happy Holidays to you too Rudy! Good to hear from you, have not been on too much lately.

I do over 30K a year but 90% highway so I make my tires stretch a bit...I think the Contis have a 540 rating which is not bad at all. Thinking of getting these before I get caught in a big snow dump..been lucky so far!!
