Anybody tried these inexpensive TPMS sensors?
Anybody tried these inexpensive TPMS sensors?
Hi Everyone,
I just recently acquired my first GM car ever, a black 5-spd 2008 HHR SS with only 34,000 Km (~21,000 miles) on it. I just joined this forum group today so this is one of my first posts.
I am just in the process of hunting down some winter rims and some winter tires for it ahead of the winter rush.
I am looking at various third party options on eBay. Some of the sensors available are pretty cheap there. For example:
New Factory Original GM Tire Pressure Moniter Sensor Set of 4 TPMS 25920615 | eBay
Anybody had any success with these or any other inexpensive alternatives on eBay?
One of the sensors that I have in the wheels that are on the car is kind of flaky and goes off-line occasionally. Usually shutting the car down and re-starting it makes the problem go away. I've driven over 35 years without tire pressure monitors in any of my cars and really don't see the value in having them. After reading through the FAQ and a good chunk of this thread I see there is no way to disable/bypass this system so I guess I just have to live with it. Just another thing of questionable usefulness to go wrong and cost money to repair.
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the site
I installed these same sensors from ebay in my winter wheels two years ago.
They look just like the oem sensors. And are still working well.
In all reality there is only a few manufactures that make the sensors,I have not heard of any aftermarket sensors to stay away from.
