- anyone wanna help a newbie to wheels? -

...I know LESS than nothing about wheels...
Im trying to learn more these days since custom wheels MAKE the vehicle!

...now, my question/task for anyone interested in helping..

I'm looking to add the awesome smoothie/moon/whitewall look to my ride..
....Ive gone thru the Wheelvintiques wheels..after awhile, the numbers blur & Im nervous about ordering incorrectly..parts & such...

Im looking to go with Summit racing...

I have a 2010 LS----

is this wheel correct in fitment???--->
Wheel Vintiques 07-6621105 - Wheel Vintiques 07 HHR Series Smoothie Bare Wheels
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WVI-07-6621105/

I will add the baby moon center caps..no problem understanding that order...

NOW... I need help with a tire--->
Im looking at the American Classic / 2.25 or 2.5" WWW
....which item# is correct on this??..Im confused by the site...

if Im WAY off on any of this..PLEASE feel free to step in and list out what'd be right...Id greatly appreciate the guidance!!!

i know the stock wheels are 17"s.... but was unsure what size i'd have to go with for these type of wheels..???

ANY help with an item# list would be a HUGE help...I read the "everything/whitewalls" post and it was a help...

thx in advance..and Im stoked to get my HHR lookin' trick!!!

I'm running the Wheel Vintiques smooties in chrome (bought them from Summit) with the baby moons and blackwall tires. If you are going with the painted wheels you show, you will probably want to paint them before installation. Black or red is popular for the vintage look (depends on what color your car is - for a red car, an off-white chream is also good). You will also probably want the trim rings.

For tire size, you probably want the same width as your stock tire, and the same height. If you post your stock tire size, I can look on Tire Rack and find the equivalent in a 16 (by the way, the 16 will fit fine on any HHR, even the SS, as long as it is NOT an SS with the Brembo brake option).

Good luck with your personalization! I like the smoothie look!

thanks for that response..very kool..

im actually gonna powdercoat the wheels more than likely..but either paint or powder I'll definately do it before installing...

Im not gonna go the red route..its overdone IMO... I'm gonna go look at afew options..but even gloss black is kooler I think..

my chop has black rims/whitewalls..I call it the "tuxedo look"..and it looks killer...I'll be installing a tow hitch mod so I can bring the bike on short trips..so a matchin' look would be smooth I think...

I checked out your link and that is the exact wheel i went with for my HHR. Heres a shot after:

PM me if you need some addition help, and ill help you the best i can. And i definately recommend powdercoating. Because with wet paint the heat heats up the centercap and destroys the are behind it. but if you are not getting caps either will work
