Being a painter, I'd strongly advise you to clear the wheels. Rattlecan paint most always has to be cleared to last very long. Choose not to clear? You'll end up with a mess, that will be hard to fix. "Moon"

It's a two part process, Black and clear , Wheels were cleaned per instructions in kit. 3 kits to do 2 wheels. ( thought i could do all 4 with 2 kits, LOL) the pics don't do them justice. Once it's all done i'll get some good pics. The silver prism stripe will probally have to go.

The wheels are polished aluminum, Not chrome.
If they don't hold up well, before i get new tires, I would chem. strip them , Re clear them , And back to original. Although the paint is made for wheels, So i'm hoping for the best.

Thanks for the comments, Good and bad.

But having an SS on your car used to be a badge of honor, something to set you apart from the normal car. So to remove it,,just goes aginst all that is ....history?,, i dunno

I hav'nt removed my badges, And probally won't

It's all about what you like-

I know that the chances of an identical SS pulling up next to me are 0 % , And i like that.

And it's functional. ( Not just a large plastic sticker )

And if i had the cash i would buy new black rims, This is the best i can come up with for now, But inperson the black looks factory.
I,ve learned a lot in 20 or so years from painting bikes, Prep work is everything, Thin coats, and a lot of time.

looks GREAT! considering the look i've gone for, you have exactly what i would have if i had bought the black SS i had a chance on the first time around. by the time i traded my car in to get an HHR I just couldn't afford the extra payment to go for the ss again. had to keep my payment the same for my budget. I'm jealous
