C4 wheels
Can some one point me in the right direction to purchase adapters for my 09 LT HHR to put C4 wheels on? I've seen a couple pics and I have the chance to pick up a set of C4 wheels but I don't want to fork over the cash if they will not fit or I can't get adapters. Thanks!

"It has adapters to correct both offset and bolt pattern. The C4 wheels will work just fine with adapters , but you should use front wheels only because they are only 8 1/2" wide. I'm not saying the 9 1/2" won't work but it's plug and play by using all fronts. I have 10 1/2 on the rear but it's tricky and limits you to one size tire to fit on the rear. Even though the c4 is rear wheel drive it uses front wheel offset around 56mm.
Just for your info, the wheel adapters don't harm the bearings when using a rim that has an equal or greater offset when combined with the thickness of said adapter.
I've done all this, so you could say I might know."

Yeah. Everything you read on the Internet is 100% true……….
One reason we don’t recommend wheel spacers on this site is- liability. There are many different styles of wheels 16, 17, 18’s with the 5x110 bolt pattern. I would suggest some wheels that don’t need adapters.

I don't know what that quote means. I apparently says they come with the correct adapters, but you should only use 2 of the wheels.
HHR wheels have something like a 32mm offset. So you would need adapters at least 2 inches thick and the studs to match. The wheels would stick out of the fenders by quite a bit.

I think the C4 wheels look pretty cool. But if you don’t already have them, consider that you will get much better results, at lower cost and far less hassle, by simply buying the correct aftermarket wheels, brand new. You can get them for as little as $150 each or even less, shipped.

The HHR’s have 42 mm off set , so depending on the adapter to go from 5x110 to the vette rims bolt pattern you should clear the rotors and calipers and the fenders. Several members have adapted vette , Sky and Solstices rims and Mustang rims .
So, you just need to know the vette rims bolt pattern and the off set to get the right thickness of the adapters , get hub centric adapters, the HHR hub is 65.1 mm

As always, it’s complicated.
What is the rim width and offset of your C4 wheels?
The stock HHR SS wheel is 7.5” wide with +42mm offset, and carries a 225/45R18 tire. Any wheel/tire much wider will demand less offset or there with be a clearance problem with the inside of the rim or more likely the tire. How much the offset must be reduced usually depends more on the tire width and diameter than the wheel width.
Then you get to worry about clearing fenders, and front tires rubbing when turning. This issue is heavily influenced by ride height. “Lowering springs” definitely complicate things.
