Chevy Indigo Blue Rims

has anyone actually seen these rims on an HHR (or Cobalt)? I have an opportunity to get a great deal on a set but scared to purchase without seeing pics. Part Number#19171080 Indigo Blue

Thanks...

They look just like the rims on my HHR mine are just regular Chrome chrome lug lugs and only my bow tie is gold.

I hope this helps, keep in mind if it is a Factory rim like mine it is made of aluminum with a stamped steel chrome plated cover that has been adhered
to the rim.

I am not fond of the design however it looks good and I am in no Hurry to change them.

I may be wrong, but from I heard these are a plastic cap, not a steel cap.

Thanks for the pics and the information. I may have an opportunity to get a new set of these for $500 not including center caps. But overall I feel its a good deal.

They have the LT 1 that has the cheep plastic hub caps over steel rims , the ones on the LT2 have aluminum rims with chrome plated stamped steel covers that are epoxied in place. I know for a fact As I crawled under my HHR when I took it home and checked it out completely. I was a little upset when I found one of them had a dent in it and some of the chrome was peeling and you could see the brass plating, also I put a magnet on them and for sure they are metal . I wish they were like the Malibu rims which look a lot like these but they are true aluminum rims. BTW the dealer replaced my rim that had a dent.
It took me three hhrs to get the one that I currently own. Two LT1's and my wifes LT2 both the Lt1s had the same style plastic hub caps over the steel rims
I check all the lug nuts to insure they were torqued properly as I never trust a PDI mechanic with my or my wifes money or life.

Good buy on the rims I will say Tire rack could have sold you some better looking rims for a little more cash But if you like the Factory look with the blue touch. Kudos On the find. I like the color tint make sure you find out how to care for them as normal polish may remove some of the blue. I am not sure but it pays to find out.

I have no experience with the "chrome clad" wheels they have out now, just several memeber here stated they were plastic. Does seem odd they would bond a steel "cap" to an alloy wheel, makes me think of rust potential.

The 1LT also have allow wheels unless they have changed that in recent years, the LS comes with hub caps with steel wheels. Again, unless that has changed in recently. My 1LT originally had the machine finish alloy's.

But if your's are steel, good luck with them.

My '07 2LT came with polished aluminum 17" wheels that are clear coated but all alloy, no bonding/caps/etc. Just a clear sprayed finish. So they must have changed design in there somewhere. I had read somewhere the black chrome special edition wheels used a plastic bonded covering.

My '08 2LT Panels OEM rims are the Same. All Alloy. They are now my Winter Rims.

Yes my HHR LT2 is a 2010 and the steel stamped Hub Cap for the lack of a better word is Bonded, however it is unclear to me what material they used do do this with.I did check the rims and they are aluminum the whole set up is crazy to me. I have never seen anything like this at all. when I took it to the dealer and they agreed to replace my drivers rear wheel I was sure ,I was only getting the Chrome cover in which the dealer would no doubt screw up the balance of the wheel permanently. However Instead of ordering me a new rim they took one off another HHR they had on the lot. but they didnt let me down as they did screw up and didnt match the the sensor to the car so I had to do their work for them.

Once again so I am not too far off topic Those blue chrome rims will look Sweet on the right color HHR. and for 125 a rim it is not a bad price.
The HHR will have better resale value if it has Stock appearing rims on it.
