cobalt SS rims don't fit 08 HHR

Just got turned outta the OK tire shop .
I brought in 4 tires and a set of 18" cobalt SS gunmetals and the mechanic did a dry fit with the Rim and said the rims do not fit. Somthing about the HHR caliper being larger? , because the center cap hole inside the hole pattern wont allow the RIMS to go on?

I was like , Hmmm, OK then! but im pretty sure they'r a straight swap (from forum research) but ....poooo

Anyone have any feed back??

Otherwise they have to be machined apparently.

I don't think hhr's changed between 06/07 and 08...and I know they fit those years. I just got a set of gunmetal wheels today though lol, so I'll test it myself soon enough.
