Ebay Rims

Hello folks,

Need a little good old fashioned forum wisdom, if you don't mind.

This is a link to 4 brand new "replica" rims for the HHR for $380 total.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/16-Al...-/220506990302

I really need some new rims, but can't really afford $800 right now, so I am considering buying these. Does anyone know anything, good or bad, about these replicas rims?

Thank you greatly for any and all input.

Oooh....um, I don't know. I just don't trust aftermarket stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if after a few years they start peeling or spotting or something. Look at other older cars with aftermarket fenders and such. If they don't look so out of place by not fitting or looking the same, chances are they're all rusted out. I'd hold off. Quite often members on here will be selling stuff, and you can usually get a good deal. That's how I bought my 2LT rims.

(Besides, go for something fancier than those, that's what I had, but you want to go all out and get some nice chrome or something!!! )

Thanks crazy. Probably need to hear that, and kind of agree. Still curious though if anyone has ever bought these themselves and what thier experiences were.

No problem. As far as experience though, I obviously never tried. I'm sure someone one here has.

If youre in the market for wheels, why not spend a little more for something unique? Make your HHR your own. If you call up wheel shops in your area, I bet you can find something nice for not much more than those replicas would have cost you.

Want to work my way up to something fancy. Need to start with just the basics yet. Anything is better than the steel wheels. Just curious how alloy could peel, spot or rust if you take care of them? Plus there is a 1 yr warranty so if they are crap, you should know within 12 months right?
