Yeah, taller tire, smaller wheel........ as opposed to rubber bands on 18s or 20s

So a normal tire...

I know 2LT comes with 17s, but don't LS and some 1LT come with 16s? I know my '06 1LT did.

Not really a "normal tire" as it is oversized and my reference to old school is.... back in the day (my "day" late 60's and through the 70's) an F60 or G60-15 was the thing..... Not much difference in the amount of rubber between these and what was on my '70 Trans Am, visually...... (Yes, technically there's a difference but the Trans Am was a bigger car too, so visually these look like street machine tires to me) Only thing missing would be the raised white letters......

Maybe I should reserve the term "old school" to anything with wooden spokes ....

These are very good tires for the money.

I plan to replace the Pilots on my SS with these when they are due.

Goodyear should have changed the name on these as GT brings back the memories of the old OE tires that they made.

Most of their lines are going to be or have been replaced with some very good and advanced tires.

Sorry about the white letters but most companies are doing away with them since they are weak spots in the tire. That is why most speed rated tires do not have them and white letters only end up on the low end tires.

Some have played with decals like Goodyear and Firestone use on their racing tires. Not many have been used yet but they may bring back the letters to the street tires since they are not part of the construction of the tire.

I have a few friends who have used these tires on Cobalt SS and they love them.

Now that made me remember working on my brothers 69 Chevelle, N50-15's on the back, G70-14's on the front.
