You mean these ? Had a set of them, they lifted in deep water, a condition unique to this area...Ha Ha. They had great traction, and a good ride.

I am now seeing a lot of mixed reviews on the DWS's saying the sidewalls are soft which make them unpredictable, slugginsh and tend to pull to the righ or left..but I have yet to hear anything bad about the gmax...how is road noise on the Gmax? Are they wearing decently? I'm just worried about them being directional tires and they usualy make lots of noise when they get older and a pain to rotate tires

The harmonics were not in the Firstone OEM tires nor in the Michelins I replaced with.

P.S.
The Tire Rack deal is a real loser if you have to return the tires for any reason.
Never again ...Sorry Tire Rack.

Thanks for your input.. I be looking at a few others :)

The gmax I have are 25-30k on them. I still like them, hope the make 15 to 20 more. Of all the tires I have tried the gmax are the quietest. These have been a good daily drive tire, I ran them on both trucklets.

Not to make your decision any easier but I just put a set of cooper zeon rs3a tires on mine. Had michelin pilot exalto as on there before. So far the coopers are very quiet and smooth. They have very good wet and dry traction so far. I have only put about 1500 miles on them so time will tell.

My gmax i only got about 20k but i do burn out and cruise at 150mph alot. Gonna keep the rear gmax and fronts the bfg's. And in rainy months rotate. Gmax do better in rain but the bfg's grip alot better as they are called drag radials lol. No mileage warranty given, but imo handle so much better. N btw dont go larger. I thought if i went 235's itd grip more but i found out infact more wheel spin.

Simple fact of tire life...... Less tread width to a point equals more PSI @ the contact area.
More important are tread compounds and designs.

150MPH ... ?????

I've got about 23K on my DWS's now. And still at 8/32 tread left. I don't know what they are saying about soft sidewalls, they do ride better than the Eagle GT's I had before, those sidewalls were like run flats IMO. The DWS's handle great. We don't get Seattle rain here, but we get good southern down pours and never a hint of hydroplaning.

I like them so much, they will be purchased again. Many don't buy the same tire again.

Something to consider on those reviews, alot of those cars are full size tall tired cars, our HHRS are shorter wider type tires so you wont get the sidewall too soft complaint..especially the guys running 17 and 18 rims..since we are limited to overall tire size and SUVs and regular cars are not.
I havent had any problems in the rain with them..and My belief is that water that is deep enough will make any tire float if you dont have the weight, especially at highway speeds...and the roads here are prime for standing water in the tread tracks.
