They were junk. Dry rotted within a few months, and one blew out with less than 10k miles. I have a set of 5..count em...5 year old goodyears that I bought for a car and I had and it blew up less than a month later, and I have both tires for spares for my HHR. I have one on my hhr now, and they look as good as the day I bought em.

I junked the factory Firestones as soon as I could. It has Pirelli P6's on it now and they have been through the roof better IMO.

Have over 51000 miles on mine lots of tread left, no concerns so far when its time to get new tires i'm going with the Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring 85,000 warranty and very quiet ride they claim am running 215/55R16 would like to go to a 255/R16 on my 09 HHR 1LT do you think i will have any issues moving up? Thanks in advance

Just make sure you check the clearance between the lower spring perch and the inner sidewall if you go that wide jbman, folk have had issues before. You'll also introduce a 4.1 mph speedo error with that size tire, here's a link to a tire size calculator for you, its really helpful.

If you are thinking of using the stock rims, the 255's will be too wide for a good footprint. If they would clear inner fender stuff like 843 pointed out.

Yes, thanks for remembering that sleeper, the stock 6.5" rims are a bit too narrow for 255's. Glad you're around to finish the thoughts that sometimes never make it out of my brain.
