No offence to anyone here, but I don't like most of the new style 18's and 20's with thin spokes...... as you say. To each his own
Obviously went out looking exactly for what you're talking about, my 69 chevy long bed van had deep dish cragars all the way around, still LOVE the look and so happy with these bullitt wheels. But that's what makes this website so much fun, all the opinions, ideas and MODS.
Got the old juices flowing again, wanting to upgrade and modify things on my HHR, driving the wife crazy, though I have slowed down some...
Grey, I think it would be too wide also, but damn it would look Sweet!

I have them installed now and am posting pictures.
Motorsport Technology in San Bernardino, CA has a maching shop in house and drilled them to the 5 110 for my HHR. He told me they done a few of them.
Any one interested check them out at http://www.motorsport-tech.com
Junior is who to ask for, 909-514-0091. He knew exactly what I wanted.
I want to thank others for leading me to find these. I'm enjoying all the DIY reports.

These look AMAZING!!!!!

I'll definitely order a set too. Just hope that dealer ships to Europe.

By the way, the wheels are 8" wide, correct? And what tire dimensions do you run on them? 245X17?

That seems a bit small, since i'm already running 225 rubbers on the 6.5" wide factory LT wheels.

Your wheels are 1.5" wider and your tires are just 215s?

It looks good on your pictures, but i think i'll rather stick with 225s or even go for 235s.

I think a wider tire on these bullitt rims may get you into the outer fenderwell edge where as the 215 fits. I run 225/50 on the euromax I have with no problems and could go wider but those are designed to fit the HHR, these bullitt rims are not specifically designed for our platform.

Specifically designed for the HHR or not, i trust if the width and offset of those Bullit wheels is the same, then there should be no problems with fender clearance as well.

Can anyone confirm (from experience) if 225s or 235s on 7" Bullits will fit or not?

I have 17x7 Re-drilled Bullits, and I'm not real happy about the the stick-out. Perhaps the 8" wide have a better offset. I have no issues with clearence at stock ride height, but I don't think I can lower without having problems. Also run 215 on 7" rim, but it just doesn't look right, looks like tire should be wider. All the websites I've searched recommend the 215's on 7" rims as well as for the stock 6.5" widths.
I just switched back to the stock wheels for winter use, and I've discovered a profound change, just rides a lot smoother with the stock wheels. Also, I did not like the look of some wear on lug nuts after running the bullits since spring of 2008.

Has anyone tried to use the wheel adapters that convert the wheel lug spacing to run these mustang wheels?

Wow, thanks for that info. This pretty much changed my mind and i'm not so sure anymore if i wanna take the risk that the Bullits won't fit after i purchased them.

And no, i don't have a local dealer to try them on first. I have to order them in the US and have them shipped all the way to Europe before i can see if they even fit. As i run Eibachs as well, i might also face fender clearance problems, in addition to the stick-out issue.

The Bullits are still the most beautiful wheels out there. I just wish they would come custom made for our HHR and fit without headaches.

The new American Racing FWDs are an alternative, but the smooth centers without lugnuts make them appear too modern and destroy the retro feeling imo. Also they are basicly flat on the outside, with no deep dish at all. Too bad.

Anyone ever tried to make the AMERICAN RACING AERO wheels fit?

They are quite popular for PT Cruisers and look almost as nice as the Torque Thrusts (Bullits). But the bolt circle doesn't seem to fit and i got no idea bout the offset as well.
