My new wheel/tire storage system

I bought these brackets off of eBay used for $60.Girots Garage used to sell them
But they stopped. If you want a set sumitt racing sells something simillar Or check eBay. I wanted to protect my stock 18's from winter/salt ... Ect. So I bought a winter wheel setup. I like to work on my car and these we getting in the way, plus I did not want to accidentaly damage them so this was my solution. Pretty easy to install. Let me know what u think.

At my old house, I made some of those out of galvanized pipe and floor flanges. I lag bolted the flanges to the wall, screwed the pipe into the flange, put pipe caps on the exposed end and hung the wheels/tires on them. Way less than 60 bucks.......

Very nice. I'd like to see your winter tire set up. I'm currently looking for an old set of Malibu rims or Cobalt.

Why would I do that...It wasn't exactly rocket science. I wasn't trying to take anything from your thread. It simply reminded me of what I had done...

I think your solution is a great idea. I payed 60 for these and that was a deal. I think summit sells them for $40 each and at Geriots garage they were well over 100 for the set. Getting the same thing done for way less then 60 is fantastic.

I also know there is work involved in your setup. Cutting pipe and making treads. Not everyone has the tools or the know how to do that.

For those people who like and are interested in a simillar setup without doing the work. You could supply them especally seeing how these are no longer available.

Do u have any pictures you could share with us?

Do u have brembos on your SS? If so Not many factory wheels fit. If not you can go with just about everything factory GM.
Steelies or Ion Redline were what I was looking for but they won't clear the brembos with out spacers.

A good place to look for your wheels http://car-part.com
It's a nation wide junk yard database. You can sort by price, distance or condition. I know u can score a deal on a set.

It makes me laugh I spent all this money on wheels and tires preparing for the snow and we have not had a single flake in NY.

Here is my setup
Drag Dr-33
Firestone winterforce 225/50/17
I bought them on blackfriday for 400 shipped with lugs included.
