Not jacking thread-just giving info about what I have. I don't have any of the tires listed but for zooming around in wet or dry (hasn't been in snow yet but I have 4 snows on rims for that anyway) I love my Pirelli P6 Plus Touring tires. Kept them the same size as my original 16's, but chose the higher grade P6 Plus with a 97 weight capacity instead of our normal 93 rated capacity stock tire because I do use a trailer now and again. Tires are quiet on my LI & NY roads as well as out of state. I can't vouch for somewhere like Colorado because by my Dad there the road way seams purposely "rough" not smooth. Had the HHR pinned and handled great. I do not hydro in them and was quite surprised by going through my 1st flood puddle with them. For the average once in a while foot stomper these were great. The P6 Plus shows 45,000 mile life on the normal tires, mine are rated a little higher at a 500 Treadwear rating. My Firestones lasted a long time but because I has a sidewall flat I bought 4 new tires. I still have 2 of the old ones if anyone local wants to PM me about them-about 1/3 tread left on each.

Anyway-Happy with the Pirelli's Check their website or go to tire rack for more specs. http://www.pirelli.com/tire/us/en/ca...plus.tab?tab=2

I just installed a set of Eagle GT's on my SS and they are great.

I had a set on the GTP Comp G for the wife to drive and was very happy with the wear and traction in all conditions. Besides the price was a slam dunk.

With my cost from where I work and other rebates I will have about $100 in each tire and I can't complain about that.

I am just glad to be free of the OE Pilots at they wore even but the tread life was poor and they were had bad dry traction and very bad wet traction.
I know they are an older Pilot but I have never has such poor traction from a performance tire.

I'm still shopping around...haven't pulled the trigger on a set yet. The conti's have gotten great reviews but im just not in love with the tread pattern. Comfort isn't a huge priority since I drive maybe 25 miles a day. I'd rather have performance and styling.

michelin primacy mxv4 quite smooth ride or michelin pilots my cost a little more- but you get what you pay for,,wheels ain't much when they touch the road all the time and you feel it in your steering wheel.

Well today we drove the new Eagle GT's in the out flow of the Hurricane. Wet traction was out standing.

Compared to the Pilots the ride is softer but turn in is still good.

Road noise is alittle up but with the radio on it is not an issue.

The Eagles do not follow the grooves in grooved concrete on the interstate like the Michelins did.

It is a noticable improvment over the OE SS tire. There may be better tires out there than the GT but for the money they are by far the best value. For what I have invested I would be hard pressed to have a better tire. If they wear as they did on my GTP they will be a winning combo.

From what I can tell the GTs don't come with any warranty from Goodyear. I don't want a tire that is going to wear out in 15-20k miles. I'm looking at maybe a set of BFG g-Force Super Sport. They've got great reviews...35k mile warranty...and the tread pattern is nice. I can get a set of BFG g-Force T/A KDW but here again they have no warranty. I know for a fact that they are great tires...never heard a bad thing about them. I'm going to try to hold out until after first of the year before I make a decision.

My two cents: If you can get away with running a Summer Only tire, then the Hankook V-12 tire is a good choice. I'm running the Hankook v-12 255/40/18's and trust me they stick like glue, and are super quiet to boot.
I'm over 300 H.P. and they hook up real good, with a little wheelspin at the hit in 1st gear, and none now in 2nd. OE's would go up in smoke, and spin in 2nd. No more.
They are rated 2nd place, just behing Dunlop Star Spec's, which is saying something about the tire. I really like the traction, and the sick like glue handling. "Moon"

BFG g-Force Super Sport
Hankook Ventus V4
Yokohama S.drive
Continental Extremecontact

I want something that's going to last and be aggressive...something not super noisy though.
Tests says:
Hankook and Yakogama - a couple of losers, if we evaluate their behavior on the ice or in the snow.
I not had Hankook. But I had Yakogama shoes, I got strike one as the worst. In the first autumn frost is frozen and solidified. Rubber turned into plastic. I threw it 2 weeks later when I realized that I will not live until spring, die on the road.

Although .. I think, for you it does not matter. Do you live in Atlanta. It is unlikely that there is snow and ice.

I hope they are better than my last 2 sets of Comp TA Radials. One set was gone at 17,000 and the others at 24,000. the last set were with my wife driving do they were easy miles.

The GT's on the last car went well over 30,000 miles with the same driver.

The Hankooks on our new GMC are already showing great wear at 8,000 miles. They are wearing even but the tread depth is not wearing good. This is just on a Terrain so it is not like they are wearing off in the hard corners or smoking burn outs.
