Question need new tires

I am needing to replace my tires this summer and I could use some advice. The only major complaint we have had about our H is traction on wet pavement. When on wet pavement the tires will break loose on acceleration very easily. It's bad enough you really have to use a delicate touch taking off from a light. Has anyone else had this problem. Has anyone found a tire that helps this situation?
Maybe my H just has to much brute power .

I have the same problem with my tires. I've never had tires that spin so much as the ones I currently have on my 2007 HHR. I bought it used just this year, so I didn't get to pick the tires; I just have the ones that were on it from the previous owner. They are "Uniroyal Tigerpaw" tires. Man, do those ever suck. I feel like I'm driving in snow when I'm just in the rain! I can't imagine how terrible the traction will be when I actually am in snow!!

The new version of the Goodyear Eagle GT's. They are excellent in the rain.

Same with factory tires...origional owner of mine just had them put on the same Firestones when he needed new ones. They suck bad. It really depends on your budget and what your intentions are for the car. Daily commuter and ride quality? Get something squishy and lower speed rating. Spirited driver? Get something firmer, etc.

I put on Firestone Destination LEs a little more than a year ago. They are excellent in the rain and don't spin on wet roads unless I try to make them spin.

EDIT: OK, I apparently had a "duh" moment. I'm not sure why I posted this. I think I was thinking I was on the Trailblazer web site. The Destination LEs are on my Trailblazer.

What I put on the HHR a few months ago was Kelly Navigator Touring Gold. I cannot spin the tires in rain even if I try hard.

big fan of the Continental Extreme contact DWS (Dry Wet Snow). Great rating for tire rack and consumer reports.

I actually need to call discount tire again on this. I called them like a week or 2 ago and they were supposed to check and call me back and never did. I have been so busy at work i haven't been able to try again. I am still riding my one loaner tire
