Need New Tires

Hey Guys,

It's time to replace my tires. They are the original factory Firehawk GTA's. Got 40,000 kms. out of them. Any recommendations on what to replace them with? I have the 17" Polished aluminum rims if that makes a difference. I also swap them with winter tires when the snow flies so I could just go with a summer tire.

Thanks

Goodyear Eagle GT..... On those wheels, 225/50/ZR17. You'll love them.

Only 40,000 klicks on the tires, they didn't last at all, even for Firestones. I'm happy with the Michelin Primacy MXV4's and Continental Extreme Contact DWS's that are on the '07 and the '06 respectively.

I'd have your alignment checked just as insurance, wearing out a set of tires that early is a bit abnormal even with the assumption of some aggressive driving.

A Kumho KR21 is rated at 85,000 miles. Something to think about

my tires

I got some really good ones at Firestone, and already had one replaced under road hazard when I hit a bale of hay. They last a LONG time. 40K on OEM tires is actually pretty good. Manufacturers get the tires cheap, and OEM tires always wear out fast - I wonder if those two concepts are related, LOL! The advantage to Firestone is that they are available 7 days a week in case of tire failure (I have had to get new tires on Sunday) and they do lifetime alignments. One of the first things I do after buying a car is to purchase a lifetime alignment from them. However, they are just about the only ones who still offer it, which is why they just raised the price!

Bridgestone or Firestone. The optimal combination of price and quality.
