Sorry that is not one of the requirements of GM for tires.

THe high center of gravity has more to do with this than any tire,

THe Firestones may be less grippy just because it is their nature to meet the required mileage of GM oE tires and also may be to provide better MPG with less rolling reisitance.

Often the tires are as they are becausde of drive by noise standard of the goverment on new cars. While it make tires quieter it also make them often with less grip.

OE tires are just comprimised from the start in most cases.

Correct-the higher center of gravity IS a reason for fitting a less grippy tire.More slide=less chance of roll.That's EXACTLY why Ford fit the tires they did on their high center of gravity vehicles.Call it the influence of the legal department.
