New wheels

I haven't had mine for a week yet, and I'm already spending money on the thing. I want to get some new wheels for it but I cant decide which ones/what size to get. So I figured, why not ask the guys here? I've almost got a set picked out. They're the 5-spoke Drifter series from MB Wheels in the gloss black finish. I can't decide if I want to stick with 16" wheel like the car came with or upgrade to an 18" wheel. I need some help choosing. Let me know what you think these would look like on my dark silver metallic hhr

Only reason not to go 18" is so you can save the cost of new tires (and slightly cheaper tires in the future). Might be able to get a decent price for your old wheels with tires. 18" definitely looks nicer in most folks eyes. Not like you need a spare set for snow tires. Those are great looking wheels you chose BTW.

I was thinkin about that, but the tires that are on the car now aren't that great. It's gonna run me about $875 for the 16" wheels and tires and about $1200 for the 18's

Take it from me. I bought my 16" wheels 2 weeks after I bought my HHR cause I didn't want to get tires. That was 11 months ago. I have been kicking myself in the rear now for 10 months. Get the 18's. If you want a little better ride then get 17's. If you can't afford tires now then wait on the wheels. I wish I would have. New ones are now the #1 item on my wish list now.

Very sharp looking wheel and should look great on your color. Have you thought about going to 17" instead. I ran 245x45x17 for a short time and had no clearance problems. What size tires do you plan on running?

Definitely go with 18's. I kept w/17's like it came with, but I think the 18 is the right size without too much ride compromise.

The reason I wasnt considering 17's is because this wheel only comes in a 16" or an 18" and I really like these wheels.

Go with the 18's. Especially since you need tires. Shop around and you can find a good set of 224/40R18's for about $100 a tire.

But I was told a while back to avoid MB wheels due to quality issues. But I have to personal experiance with them due to that advice......
