Psi?
#3
Got the car used. It had 25 PSI. Nice ride, sloppy in corners.
Put on the Anti sway bar. = Better ride in corners. less slop.
Had front rim changed, Chevy put in 35 PSI in the right front where the rim was changed out.
I rode on 3 tires at 25 PSI and one at 35 PSI for a while before it dawned on me that perhaps the Chevy folks were not as anal as I am.... sure enough.......
Now running 35 PSI in all four = slightly rougher ride. Not much more road noise, but definitely more road feel.
I'm going down to 30 PSI all around to see what it will feel like.
I'm thinking of changing to tires that have a 44 PSI max. What would one set the PSI to then? I guess around the PSI Chevy recommends for the HHR, 35 PSI? Not sure. Will experiment when it happens. Gotta wear down these Firestones first.

On my stock tires I ran 26psi front and 28 in back. Anything above that was a rough ride.
With my new Hankook's (H105 XL's), I run 30 front and 32 rear (much smoother riding tires).
Basically it will depend on the road surfaces you drive on and the ride quality of the tires you are running. The HHR weighs in around 3200lbs, so it doesn't take a whole lot of air for the tires to be "properly inflated." Different tires will transmit more/less road irregularities to the cabin.
YMMV

For my climate, I'm going for the Goodyear Tripple tread. I was thinking of the Michiline Hydro Edge, but it does not come in an HHR 17" size.
You dry folks are lucky in your performance tire choices.
