Oh one more thing, the bottom of the strut where the coil spring sits in, there is maybe 3/8" in between that and the top of my tire.

I have done custom suspension on other vehicles includeing a custom 4 link suspension with air ride on a ford ranger, and have done suspension work on dirt track race cars. All I am trying to tell you is that if you dont use spacers with solstice/sky wheels, they will rub the sidewall of the tire on that edge of the bracket.
By chance do you know the factory offset of the solstice/sky wheels?

i think the HHR is 46mm so I would need about a 9mm spacer, just shy of 3/8" at .354"

I am not trying to sound rude or be an ass, but I am just telling you what I had to do, and also I have talked to other members with the same wheels as me and they said the same thing about having to shim the wheel out and that a 245/45R18 will not fit up front without rubbing the strut where the bottom of the coil spring sits.

I didnt take it as such. 8-D Infact I have taken to quit the contrary. I am keeping in mind that I will probably have to do that anyways. I really do appreciate all your help, and hope I didnt come off wrong.

Here is a good site for matching up the HHR's 110 bolt pattern with other stock rims.http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-r...udSpreadMM=110

Does anyone know if 245/40 18" fit. I was reading some people putting them on their SS rims. I'm assuming they had more clearance because of the 1/2 inch difference between the stock SS rims and the wider Solstice rims. Any thoughts or suggestions? Because I'm going to be buying some tires next week for my solstice wheels.

My mechanic said that different sizes front/back will screw with the ABS and possibly other stuff.

Infinitys & Nassans that use different sizes are calibrated for that.
