switching rims/tires

I have found a number of rims that are 16" and my 2006 has the 17 inch rims. If I change to 16 for the winter, what kind of issues will I have? This thing is terrible if it even sees a snowflake on the road, it comes up with Low Traction warning and barely moves. I need some decent snow tires!

You’re gonna be fine with 16” rims , the LS has them standard. Get some good snow tires, and enjoy the ride

The standard 16" tires are 215/55R16.

On my LS and LT HHRs I used 205/60R16 snow tires (Blizzaks). They are the same diameter as the factory size, but are slightly narrower (even better for snow) and cost a lot less than the factory size.

I found that good snow tires (Michelin X-ice, Bridgestone Blizzak, etc) made a HUGE difference in the HHRs. My 2006 1LT went from wheelspin and sliding everywhere with the all-season tires to great traction and very little sliding with snow tires.

The traction control just cuts engine power if it detects wheelspin, which can be bad sometimes if you are pulling into traffic and then suddenly no power.

Yep. Same wheels I had on my old 08 panel. The bolt pattern is the same and they will clear the brakes

16” steelies even clear the SS non Brembo 11.6 inch brake rotors.

These 16” OEM steelies are covering up an SS non Brembo brake setup on Oldblue, a 2007 LS 2.2 litre

The only information missing is the offset.

They look very nice! These most likely have a 35 mm maybe 40 mm off set , so they should fit just fine.
You can always take a jack and lug wrench and ask if you can try them on!
