Tires for my 18" rims
Kind of depends on what you're going for: Looks, performance, both ?
Me personally. I like a tire that fills up the wheelwell on the HHR as much as possible.
A max tire height of about 26.3 inches is all you can go to clear the front struts.
Since you've got aftermarket wheels, and you didn't state what the offset was, then I'm not sure just what would work for you.

18x8 offset is 40mm. I am thinking 215/45/18 ?

225/40/18
I'm running them on my wagon...if you're at stock height on a LS or LT I'd go with as much sidewall as possible. I'm on coilovers so I'm running a lower profile tire than most of the guys on here with their SS's.
