Wrong Odometer reading after mod

No, I agree that speedometers aren't always right. I just don't know if I trust mine since it happens to be exactly 1mph faster than each of our cars (excluding the truck...which I KNOW the speedo wrong!)

Not sure how you can say the GPS is off in our cars???
I find the GPS to be superior to any speedometer.

Both of my HHRs are off by 2 - 3 MPH on the speedo.
I am sure that has something to do with the fact that they read 2 - 3 MPH when the car isn't even running

I don't sweat the small stuff like this.. I mean speed-O will change as a tire wears, & run faster.. No biggie..

I would imagine the GPS shows fewer miles than the Odometer! Mine does. My theory is the GPS measures points in time and when on a curvy road, the curves are broken down into shorter line segments. So on a curvy road the GPS should also show a slower speed than an "accurate" speedometer. How bad this inaccuracy is would depend upon how often the GPS updates and calculates position and speed.
