Wrong Odometer reading after mod
I'd trust the GPS over any speedo anyday. Mine actually showed dead on with my GPS with the 224/40R18's I had on before, and they were indeed shorter than the 215/55R16's stock, so the speedo should have shown fast. Speedometers calibrations are just like any other guages, rarely dead on.
I find the GPS to be superior to any speedometer.
Both of my HHRs are off by 2 - 3 MPH on the speedo.
I am sure that has something to do with the fact that they read 2 - 3 MPH when the car isn't even running
So does mine..................nice buffer for when your not paying attention to Johnny Blue....
I would imagine the GPS shows fewer miles than the Odometer! Mine does. My theory is the GPS measures points in time and when on a curvy road, the curves are broken down into shorter line segments. So on a curvy road the GPS should also show a slower speed than an "accurate" speedometer. How bad this inaccuracy is would depend upon how often the GPS updates and calculates position and speed.
