Arrow '07 2.2L A4 HHR vs '88 Firebird Formula 306 TBI from a Roll

This kill story happend a while back but forgot to post. I had a buddy who owned a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS.6 305 Automatic which has some mods and have gone into the 14's (air filter, headers, cat back). Stock weight and a 165 lbs driver.

My car is the 2.2L HHR with more weight.

This kid races anything with wheels and a motor so it was just so happend I met him up on the freeway and got his attention.

We "Riced" from a Roll, approx 20mph and went after the customary 3 honk's and I smashed the gas.

He got pulled both races and I put approx 3-4 car lengths each time.

Given that me and my wife were in the car and the 305 TBI is choked, I was still impressed with the HHR.

We est. that when we went, he did not get the downshift and that lull allowed me the jump and the HHR held it's own ground.

It's nothing like my LS1 but it was a fun kill no less.

that's funny. 305s are pretty doggy even with mods. iirc they only came with 165hp. nice kill though, 20mph isn't too ricey of a roll, much better than 60mph. granted its hard to hook high hp fwd at low speeds. I can nail it in 2nd without brakeboosting and spin them to about 55 then get a good chirp to 3rd. my friends cobalt with mods spins through 1st and 2nd and part of 3rd, worse now with full bolt ons. hopefully nitto drs help some lol. nothing as good as mickys though.

Yea, it was nothing spectacular, 20mph rolling in a Auto and mashing the gas does not do anyting crazy. IF the car was a Manual I am sure I could have gotten TQ steer.
