2.4 vs 92 Camaro 305 and 2013 Veloster Turbo
Okay...so the first one was from last weekend...we were on our way to a meet and one of the guys that was riding out wanted to run me in his 92 Camaro RS with a 305. Only mod is a flowmaster setup so I figured why not. I'm running my 2.4 LT w/Airaid Intake, Magnaflow Muffler and Trifecta tune. We made two runs...both were 40-80...I took him both times by a car. I felt pretty good.
This past weekend I was at a local meet which really turns into a lot of racing. I'm usually not down for street racing but everyone was having their fun and I wanted to run something a little more aggressive than the Camaro from the week before. There was a guy there in a 2013 Veloster Turbo that had just ran my buddy in his LSJ Cobalt. My buddy walked away from him so I knew I least had a chance. First run we went from about 35...my car shifted as soon as I stomped on it (I'm in an automatic) so he took me by a few cars. I wanted another run...this time I made sure I was in the correct gear and I was able to keep him within a half a car. Still a beat but for a car that weighs about 500 lbs less than the HHR and comes from the factory with almost 30 extra hp I'll take that small of a beat. The tune has really woke up my little wagon.

My best friend has an 86 firebird with a 305...My old 2.4 auto was just a hair faster when we raced...he wasn't interested in racing my SS when I bought it
And nice try on the Veloster....I was wondering what they had under the hood the last time I seen one...From what I was told they are only 180 HP, guess I could google it

2013 Veloster's Curb weight: 2800-3000 lb
2011 HHR 2LT Curb weight 1900-2100lb
You have the advantage in that spot.
Veloster reg cuts out at 125-130
HHR reg cuts out at 150-160
mine is a 4 speed automatic and cuts out at 157mph. 2009HHR 2LT

Dealership brought out a 2015 Veloster Turbo auto to me while they were replaceing my spoiler on the Elantra due to some LED's out. Needless to say, I had to "try" it out. Very disappointed in it. The auto version was gutless IMO, I know my 6M 2.0 Elantra would have taken it. Maybe the manual version is better. They need to tune that 201HP better.

My reaction to that post is because an HHRs weight is at least 1000 more pounds than stated and the only way a stock one reaches 157 mph is during free fall from high altitude.

Thinking someone needs to read the door tag more closely. ( pay close attention because some weights are in kilos.)
It is WELL documented on how much a HHR weighs. Those "Lb" weights you listed are WRONG.
