HHR vs. 350ZX...

Couldn't help it...this guy was rolling hard as he came up to the light, so I just sat there in "sleeper" mode and waited patiently for the green.
I knew he wasn't expecting anything from my HHR, so when the light changed I caught him off guard.

As he rolled off stiffly, I just kept pushing more pedal without making it look like anything. Before you know it, I had it to the floor! Stayed right with him until 60, then he pulled away as we hit 80. A red up ahead caused him to swerve into my lane (narrowly dodging a car in his), and he was shakin' as he made the stop. I cooly grabbed the binders and brought the HHR down right behind him.

Leaving the next light he was visibly shaken! As we pulled up to the corner I passed him on the right to make my turn...he was still in shock that I gave him a run. I wonder if he knows the HHR is a 2.4L 4-cylinder?

Anyway...all in good fun!

(I need a #2 trophy!)

Just pick your battles wisely. If it's an import with a set of stickers and Folgers "Type R" exhaust , you can have some fun. But a lot of them I've seen lately that have the REAL mods look stock at first glance. But hey, what the heck. Have fun even if they do beat you. You still look better in the HHR!

One of the guys where I work has a sleeper ricer. From the outside it looks like a stock white Honda Prelude with some rims. He didn't even tint the windows and left the interior stock. Pop the hood and you'll notice where he spent all of his money.

This one looked dead stock - but you could tell the guy knew his stuff.
I had planned on loosing (a 350ZX - yeah, right!), but was impressed with how well the HHR did.

Fast Hondas are few and far between. Most of those guys slap on an annoying exhaust and a warm air intake, then run high 15's and think it's fast. There are some fast ones out there, you just don't see many of them.

Here I was, sitting at the light... a 2005 Corvette Z06 pull up next to me. When the light turned green I smoked it! I left it in my rearview mirror. At the next light I got a good look at the driver... a 60-yrs old grandma! Does that count as a kill?

Only if the race is mutual. I used to get that all the time in my Mustang. Kids would pull up next to me in Hondas and want to race. I wouldn't have any desire to and they would speed off from the light thinking they beat a Mustang when in all actuality I wasn't even racing them.

I dunno, they didn't make an 05 ZO6. 04 is the last year fo the C5 Z06, 06 is the first year of the new C6 Z06.
