HHR vs Porsche

you mean this beauty?
Powered by 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine built at Porsches Zuffenhausen factory, it was capable of producing 174 horsepower. The engine was placed in the front and powered the rear transaxle. In-line 4-cylinder engines were often plagued with vibrations so Porsche negotiated a deal with Mitsubishi for the use of their 2-balance shafts. A 5-speed manual gearbox was mated to the engine and an optional automatic was available.

There is a dude at work that thinks he's bad ass for owning a 944 even though he only paid like 5 or 6 grand for it. Now that I know an HHR can hang I should hand him his ass with my 4 door retro Cobalt wagon.

Take them on a road course
And HHR PONY, if I'm not mistaken that picture's actually a 944S (or s2 or s4)which didn't get produced until later (88 I think).
Either way... Porsche's never been known (or concerned) for straightline acceleration, your average Vette will blow the production Turbos (944s or 911s away at a stoplight, but once the Vette has to make a turn the Porsche will be a block away before the Vette's back on the gass
