Those raced prepped ecotecs are nothing like what any production car comes with, it's comparing apples to oranges.
I know but a man can dream! At least I stand a chance again Japanese imports.

looks, thats it. I don't feel the HHR is a race car, it's a crusier. If I wanted to go fast I would have bought the 02 Z06 I was looking at. After owning 2 highly modded cars I'm tired of the up keep, I'd rather have a $300.00 a month payment than a $300.00 dollar a month repair bill for something I modded all to hell. First time at the track with my Camaro on the bottle, with drag radials, I blew the rear end up. Cost me almost a grand to put it all back together, that was in parts alone I did the work myself. Since I'm a tech at a dealer, now if I happen to break something, they'll pay me to fix it. It just cracks me up to see these guys out at the track with there liitle civics that have so much money dumped into them, are gutted, and they run high 13's, I did that stock. 13's just aren't fast to me, and there's no way in hell anybody is getting an HHR into say the deep 12's high 11's without spending more money than the car is even worth. To me it's not worth it.

even then the new Civic SI traps approx 96 mph in the 1/4 and runs a mid to low 14, the HHR isn't even close to that. The new Nissan GTR is rumored to have close to 450hp, Japan is starting to produce some power out of there new cars.

Can I at least pretend that my HHR will be fast some day. LOL! I am not looking to have a Vette killer but the HHR is way underpowered and I would like at least 250 hp out of it.

I'm not trying to bash your dream . Hell who knows I may even end up building mine to be a mean street machine, but for right now I don't see the point.

That's the best. Many years ago, I had a Suzuki Sidekick(named SUZI). Moded the four cylinder w/ alum head gasket, mid-range cam, dual Mikuni racing carbs, and 2 in exhuast. Hooked it to centerforce 1 racing clutch!
Recorded times in the 13s. Was able to take Mustangs and Cameros in the 1/8 mi, only losing to Stangs by less than two lengths in full 1/4 mile.

Hopefully we can do the same with our HHRs. I'm sure it will be posible once the aftermarkets start releasing performance mods.

That was many years ago. I've been forced to outgrow the NEED FOR SPEED. I'm just going to keep to appearance mods.

Well your no fun......just kidding! I bought my HHR as a family vehicle but I cant help my urge for speed. As long as I obey all traffic laws and speed limits while my children are in the vehicle I'm all good.
