I think I figured it up one time that a HHR SS would have to have roughly
45 whp more then a comparable Cobalt SS turbo to break even in the 1/4 mile.

Now I know that driver mod etc, but that is a basic comparison of 1/4 mile time to get the same et.

i've been wondering this.

do you remember if you did power:weight ratio to figure it out? i'd honestly think a tadbit more power would be needed to compensate for the aerodynamic differences.

Our HHR SS are more aerodynamic then alot of sportier cars and what most people that own them think

The HHR SS drag coeffecient is .35 the Cobalt SS/TC is .32

I used a power to weight ratio calculator for the 1/4 mile.

Then I used the HHR SS weight and the Cobalt SS weight with a whp figure of 350 whp for the Cobalt SS and recorded the 1/4 mile time.

Next I slowly added whp till I got the exact same ET in the 1/4 mile as the 350 whp Cobalt SS.

Its just a rough estimate as other factors come in to play, but it puts you pretty close.

So, I guess the question now is; Who's going to be the first in the 12's?

Ask SS.Lady. her and her man run at the strip. Both 5sp, and she was just behind him on the drag.

rock on man.

the reason i brought aerodynamics is because the front of the HHR SS is very flat and more like a box truck.

I bet I'm in the 12's with all my mods, but we only have a local 1/8 and all the 1/4's are 1 hour plus away and they are all crappy upkeep tracks to boot
