If his car isn't tuned, then he's losing power. His TQ stock is higher than ours in with the Stage 1. Slapping on a blower and turbo will do little unless tuned for it. With a turbo he should be over 400 RWHP but then again slapping a Turbo on a 305 isn't a good idea anyways.

It's not a 305. It's a 350!

He put the car on the Dyno yesterday, This is his post on our local forum. 265 HP and 332 TQ

Iroc is still running pretty good. The transmission is starting to go away pretty fast now with the cooler weather making more power. I've also peaked the boost a lot higher than planned: 12 psi on the dyno and I saw 11 on the street yesterday (made the tranny slip like crazy going into 3rd).

Numbers from the dyno were not amazing but it was only one pass and Mark shut it down early because the AFR went north because of the high boost and dropping fuel pressure. His dyno put more of a load on the engine than the car sees in actual driving so the boost went a little wild. It shouldn't have exceeded 9.5. Fuel pressure started high and dropped through the entire pull, and the AFR suffered severly as the fuel dropped. It went all the way to 13.2 and that's when Mark backed out.

So, the fuel pump upgrade is in order, along with the transmission. Might as well get the intercooler soon too. Thank God my wife just got a new job that's going to make the cash flow a little smoother around here (Thanks David for the lead!) but I have to pay off some credit cards before the good times begin.

The interesting thing is my engine's stock torque peak is at 2900, but the test begins at 3500 and full normal boost (9.5 psi) wasn't reached until 4000 rpm. The peak torque occurred before full boost, so this test should have started at 2500 rpm and I think we would have seen at least 375 ft lbs. No reason to continue the sessions until I get the transmission and fuel pump sorted, so Mark told me to come back and we'll do it again.

Much thanks to Mark Panhandle Performance.. they had my car hooked up to more sensors on the dyno than the hospital did when I went in for an echo-cardiogram! It is nice to have the fuel pressure sender on the graph and I appreciate him keeping a close eye on everything and shutting down when he felt it was unsafe.

If your building power for the upper end then you need to cam for the upper end or your wasting your time....

He knows that. Just seeing what he can do with the stock 350 TPI before it blows Believe me he knows a lot about engines and cars.

lol. your right. I've seen pieced together engines last longer than some engines with new parts.
