Sebastian and the dump truck

Since I bought my HHR I've been very conscious of dump trucks and things that can throw rocks and stuff at your car, so today I'm speeding up to get around a dump truck when a rock skips across the hood and into the windshield It left three deep scratches on the hood and a chip in the windshield. The windshield is not cracked, and the chip is very small, so the hood took the brunt of the damage. I've filled in the scratch already with primer/filler and will touch up paint tomorrow, then I get to test out my new buffer.

Sorry to hear that.. That is my worry about taking my recent roadtrip. Let me know how the filler and etc. work. I bought a little kit with filler, primer, etc, luckily no need to use it yet. I hope that it looks as good as new!! Todd (Uma)

Wheelie wants you to know that he is sorry for Sabastian's accident, he said he can relate, as he was hit with a chip that was thrown by a cement truck a week ago, Wheelie sends Sebastian a door hug.

As of yesturday Fiji has three of these darn lil dents with scratches on the hood and I think three very small chips in the glass. It is sometimes possible to have the company who ownes the truck that flings the rock pay for the repairs or for a new windshield. You can follow them and calmly tell the driver what happened you call a number on the truck as soon as possible and sometimes they will just take care of it for you, best od luck and please post what kit you have for fixing these lil buggers and a pic of the results so the rest of us can keep our beloved HHRs in tip top shape also.
Thanks, sorry and good luck,
Jim, Michelle and Fiji

Check your state laws. In SC the company is responsible if something comes out of the bed and hits you. Same as something thrown from duals with no mud flaps.

Always get the plate number of them gravel trucks...they will pay as debris falling off the truck is the same as an unsecure load which they are libel for.
