Eclipse, judging by the phrase "pretty little HHR", I'm guessing you're a girl. I'm also guessing some of the attention you're getting isn't car related. My wife is smokin', and she's always telling me about cops following her. ;-)

I have this happen to me all the time. I even had a 71 Chevell SS LS6 M21 Try me. It sounds like we have pretty much the same car. Mine being a 2006 LT2 2.4 auto all decked out. The car is bone stock, not even pin striping. Just all the options that cam on the car. Though I must say it can hang with a lot of things. Just the other day I was haning with a Ninja 500 going down the highway, till I backed off because cops like to sit where we were going through. I have run all kinds of things, and most of the time I have a few lengts till I hit the speed limit or some where close to it.

for those who know what I am talking about, my shadow edition HHR is only a 2.2L motor HOWEVER with the 5 speed manual, I have gotten a lot of head turning annnd due to the appearance, I may or may not have kept pace with a Mustang GT NB on I-75... while it was fun, I have to be good with my occupation. That's. Something that my being 22 its sooooo hard to behave when challenged. But I have to admit, its funny to rev at a light and watch them take off and you see the cop up the road, and they see a challenge right next to them. They get tbe ticket and you drive right on byy.

So cool to see that this thread has seemed to just keep rolling along so long after I made that first post. I still get bumps to "go" from jokers from time to time on my commutes. My HHR still purrs along the interstates, gets great MPG and except for the key fob getting a little fussy (had to switch to the second one, I think the membrane is shot on the first), have had no service issues since the bumper to bumper lapsed. Still keep it looking sharp, only one little parking lot brush mark on the passenger side that will buff out this spring. I still like my car, and look forward to several thousands of miles of happy motoring in the coming years. Rock on.

If you got some toys all but the SS and SRT-8 would fall behind

You think its bad in an HHR? Try driving THIS around...

It was almost nonstop. Any young punk in the world would pull up next to me...revving, motioning me to roll my window down... giving me the "go" signal. I had one kid in a SRT4 pull up next to me on the highway while I was coming home from work-look at me and honk three consecutive times and gun it and take off, I didn't alter my speed one bit. He'd slow down, I'd catch up, and he'd do it again. He took off and cruised at about 80 mph away from me (I was at 65).

IDK why, it just pisses me off.

I stewed for a minute, like I always do, realized I bought a supercharged car for this very reason and decided to catch up to him. I'm at his door, he didn't notice me at first. We're rolling at 80 side by side, and I start the 3 honks. 1...2...3-on 3 he floors it. I hit the brakes and ease off the highway at my exit. Moron.
