I suggest you pop it out, clean the foam off and reinstall it with some silicone grease around the opening to allow easier installation and some water protection

Our HHR 4T45E axle nut is a 30 mm 

I searched Detroit axle site most are out of stock, non are listed as don’t require the stub shaft. I have that axle here for the hhr
