I re-read your post, agree that if the catch can lines were drenched in oil also, more likely rings than turbo. A cold compression test might work, another option is to go straight to a leak down test.

The readings might all be low, but if they're about equal I think the rings should be okay.
- What do you guys think?
If your doing a leakdown you should be alright. You will see it in the reading and hear it if you have any major blowby.

250-300 miles, I'm calling this oil filler cap fixed!! Also drained the collection tanks again, about the same results as the last drain, just under an ounce from turbo-side, ounce and a half from intake-side. This from 150 miles of driving. Seems the catch can system is working pretty good now.

Of course, the weather has been wetter, and the vast majority of the caught fluid seems to be water. Probably a combination of wet weather and a more efficient system.

How are you faring, Dan?

Hey RJ,
You're running 2 1/4" oil separators, right?

This post and the one right after it show a mod I had to do. Although the rubber washer I made didn't hold up to the chemicals.

Now that I know the system works good, I need to start designing better cans. These are functional, but the plastic parts don't hold up long term.

Drained the cans today, about 2.5 oz. from the intake side. Only 2 or 3 drops of clear water from the turbo side, didn't expect that after seeing somewhat equal amounts from each side recently. I even blew through the collection tank, to make sure it wasn't plugged up. Clean side line was actually clean, so that's good.

Just wondering, it seems Powel racing had a system of hoses to catch the oil and return it to stop the intake valves from coking up
