Gauges in middle of dash.

Hi
Wandering around cyber space I found this:
SCSS gauge pod and gauges GP - LS1GTO.com Forums
With some thought, gauge pods could be made for the HHR where the dash compartment is.
Thanks

I know you are probably just using them as an example but I would steer clear of the actual SCSS gauge pods if you're planning to put them in an HHR. The fuel gauge would be the problem. The unit is designed for a 2004 GTO with an LS1. When you try to put it in an LS2 car (like my 2005 GTO or a 2006 GTO) even with the adapter it doesn't function properly. You'd have to come up with some type of adapter for the HHR fuel rail and, if that could even be accomplished, the gauge would still likely be inaccurate. That and the post is from over 8 years ago. Not sure if it would even be available anymore as accessories/parts for these cars are becoming more and more difficult to find.

Did you make the tubes from PCV piping?

This is why I started the thread. Make pods or maybe even buy the pod piece for the GTO hack it up and install it on the center hatch cover of the HHR. Buy some Autometer gauges of your choice and install them.
Being that the gauges would be electric and not mechanical it's possible to have them mounted and still lift the cover so to use the storage compartment.
