Unhappy Please help, key struck in ignition

I have a 2007 HHR and usually every few months the 60 amp fuse blows. they ran a test everything was good nut today it did it again and after changing the fuse it would not start and I could not get the key back to take it out, my daughter did get it released by clicking something under the steering wheel. anyone have this problem?

My 2007 hhr the key is stuck in the ignition. I replaced the 60 amp fuse and it still will not move to start, anyone have this problem, if you could email me with any help I will be so thankful as I really don't know how to use this. my email is . thanks so much

Robin

To get you started read the section of the Owner manual about removing a stuck key. Online Owner Manual is available through the link in my sig.

What is the state of the battery? Is the security light on? Is the engine running? Has the ignition recall been performed?

Certain conditions are covered by an extended warranty on the shift mechanism.

Here is one link I found by typing the title of your post into the search box:

Which 60 amp fuse?
If you mean the one near the battery in the trunk, it is dangerous, find out why it blows and get it fixed!

If you mean the power steering fuse under the hood, go to a GM dealer and have the power steering motor replaced under the Extended Warranty.

What is the state of the battery?

Here is a link that is a possible solution, it is now covered by another Extended Warranty.

Has the ignition recall been done?
