Wheel Wobble?

ok here's a story----

I had my winter tires/rims swapped out for my spring tires/rims at Wal Mart (perhaps my first mistake).... upon leaving, I noticed a very slight wobble and wobbling noise coming from the front driver's side. I thought the wheels could have been out of balance, so I had the front two balanced.... didn't work.

I then took it to my dealer to check out, and he said maybe Wal Mart torqued them down too hard and the discs were forced out of shape, or the discs were warped (i put them on a year ago) and rubbing on the brake pads. They took the fronts off and cleaned off the inside of the wheels and re-torqued them back on.... didn't work.

Today I turned in my rotors under warranty and replaced them with the new ones (after noticing that the steering wheel would wobble upon braking, and seemed to match up with the sound of the wobble coming from the driver side front), cleaned everything with a wire brush to ensure a snug fit, and torqued everything.... didn't work (the brake wobble is gone but i can feel it very slightly while driving, and the noise is a little more evident during right turns).

What else could this be? Could it be a bad bearing?

Thanks!
Andy

Something similar happened to me last year and I posted it on the forum. Had my rims swapped out the the left front wheel began shaking badly. I thought it was out of balance, so I let it go for a day or two. It got worse and worse and I put the lug wrench on the wheel and the lugs were absolutely loose as could be. I went back to the dealer very upset. The re-tighted and a week later it happened again - and again - and again. Finally, I really reefed on it and it has never happened again. Check those lugs!

Could even be a belt in a tire just a little out? You can't always see em.

Good thought - How about moving the driver front to the right rear and see if it goes away??

when I lowered mine I swapped out the linkages at the same time..the bushings on them are not the greatest..like the rotors..Ive had little problem since..I find the firejunks are a little hard when cold..wobbled in the winter a bit but seems fine now the weather has warmed up..

put new wheels on it today (as per service dept. recommendation) which got rid of the steering wheel shake but it's still making the noise! ugh! any ideas? could it be a bearing? a tie rod?

Assuming you're using aftermarket wheels, did you remove the star washer that retains the rotors?
