Well, I'm going to run her down the track a few more times tonight. I've gotten a trifecta tune since the last time out, but that's all. Tonight will only be 1/8 mile passes so I won't be able to get new 1/4 mile times to compare to last time. But this time I'll be running at sea level instead of nearly 5000ft like before. Wish me luck.

I was only able to make 3 runs before the track shut down for rain. The first couple passes it was super hot and humid. By the third pass it had cooled down a lot because it was getting ready to rain. Here's how the slip read.

R/t----0.17
60ft---2.28
330ft--6.02
594ft--8.49
1/8et--9.04
Mph---81.38

Not too bad. But it was a little disheartening because I was hoping for 8's and I'm soooooo close.

I assume you got your trifecta installed?

I am hoping for 9.0X at this point...Next Wednesday is cruise night, so I am gonna lower the tire pressure to foolmoons recommendation, and leave soft...the best I could muster last year was 9.56 @76 with superchips(19 psi or so) and about 25 psi in the tires

Yup. Trifecta is installed. I was running 30psi in my tires and spinning badly on my last run. I still have the factory Michelins. After my 9.04 run I dropped my tire pressure to 18psi and got back in the staging lanes. Unfortunately, it started raining before I could make another run. I may make some 1/4 mile passes this weekend to see what it'll do back at altitude.

Cruise night was tonight. Track prep was just plain stupid. However I spent my cash and had a few passes, this one the best:
r/t...-.998
60'...-2.5852
1/8th...-9.9981
mph...-77.19

First thing is, I looked through all of my slips from every pass I have ever made. 77.19 MPH is the highest trap speed. I know this car has low 9's or even high 8's with some traction. Trifecta has me at a higher MPH at a 10 second pass than my best with superchips (9.56 @ 76.XX). so I know traction is key...I had my regular street tires at 17 psi for the passes too.

Secondly, there were some pretty bad ass cars running in the 9's, meaning I am not the only one suffering from no traction. I had a 10.42 pass that I never put my foot all the way down, just to not spin. I talked to the one worker about the track prep while waiting in the staging lanes, He said "cruise nights aren't really where you should come looking for your best times, because we really don't do anything to the track and the first 60' is where it shows". I also noticed that they cone off the "groove" so it doesn't get dug up I guess.... I was told to try test and tune night, where they really take care of the track.

Sounds like they do not prep to well
I would try NYIRP new york international in Leicester ny near geneseo
Bob usually does a good job of track prep
you wont get the traction you would at say Maple Grove Pa but its a pretty nice setup there
Click below in my signature for some Shaky video of me at the track that gives you an idea of the setup there if you have not gone yet its worth the drive.
