Made a PT driver angry today

I have a pretty good commute to work everyday (74 miles each way). About 60 of those miles are interstate. Because of the cost of gas these days, I usually set my cruise and just go.

On my way home today I spot a PT in the distance.

As I approach, I see the letters "GT" on his rear hatch.
Personally, I didn't know that a "GT" PT existed.
***Anywho, after I passed by him (using cruise) and a couple other cars, I am able to merge back to the right lane.
A few minutes later he comes flying past and merges to the right, a few cars up ahead.
Again I am forced to merge back to a passing position...and go by him a second time. This time he nails it (carbon spray for proof) and is riding my passenger door. Then lunges, then falls back, then lunges, then falls back.
All the while he is bad-mouthing me thru the window because I won't challenge him. Throwing his hands us in a "come'on...do something" manner.
Honestly, my fuel warning was on and I had no intention of wasting my last few gallons.
My reply was a visible laugh on my part and a "no no no" index finger side-to-side gesture.

I am sure I made him mad. I have the tag that declares my intentions....but refused to let him test that theory .

Good thing...unless you have some mods that aren't listed in your signature.
The PT GT is Turbocharged

215 hp (160 kW) @ 5000 rpm and 245 lb·ft (332 N·m) @ 3600 rpm (2003–2004)
230 hp (170 kW) @ 5100 rpm and 245 lb·ft (332 N·m) @ 2400 rpm (2005+)

Our 2.2 LT is sufficient for daily driving but compared to a Turbo 4cyl, V6 or V8 it can barely get out of it's own way

Methinks Mr. PT has feelings of inadequacy to get so worked up over an HHR LS, provocative plate or no.

Hmmm....PT GT, sounds like an oxymoron to me, like "Government Oversight".

That would have been pretty embarrassing on your part. That GT would have had you for breakfast. I wouldn't even dare challenge one in my 2.4...stock or modded. You played it very well sir!

i used to own an 03 PT GT (k&n intake, custom catback & mopar bov), they're quite surprising and as said above.... it would have had you for breakfast. just like the HHR SS is the wagon version of a Cobalt SS Turbo, the PT GT is the wagon version of the Neon SRT4. good thing you passed up the chance to play with him, you might not have posted this story due to the embarassing outcome.

Well, better safe than sorry (aka...shamed). Since I had no idea if the "GT" was real, or a poser knock-off, I thought it best to just "walk away".

And to add to it, he was from out of state.

Sometimes denying the opportunity is worse than an actual outcome!!

So, to anyone that knows, does the GT PT look different? This one looked like a bone-stock PT. Plastic hubcaps and all. Nothing but the emblem to indicate it wasn't a snoozer.

Sir, I recommend you immediately attach said license plate to the new HHR SS you will be buying. I mean, you're part way there with the plate. Might as well have the car to match. Or maybe you could get a plate frame that says "* this offer excludes PT GT".
