10 PSI Boost at Highway Speeds

Hi, I had the LNF Upgrade installed a few months ago and it works great! Except for one thing... First off it is an auto '08 SS. Around town it is an effin' rocket with no problems but at highway speeds when you give it hard acceleration sometimes you get 23 psi other times it will go to 11 or 12 then drop and hover at 10. It's not temp and humidity and I don't believe that it's the engine torquing and causing the sensor to hit the AC comp. The intercooler is tight and the install is clean and fresh (no solder though). It happens hard or soft accel. Sometimes it downshifts sometimes not. ???????

Mine is similar, think its the nature of the tune I'm planning on trifecta Talked to some one who has it they say it boosts up over 20 and stays there sounds like a good investment to me. If you are getting up over 20 the stg1 is working.

My bet is the wiring for the LNF upgrade sensors.
Best bet is to solder them instead of using what the kit provided.

Here's a link of How to do it, the bottom one would be the same type of deal.

The computer manages the boost, at all times, to keep things in one piece.. Sometimes you get +-23, but most of the time, you will get less boost. Temperature also dictates how the computer authorizes boost. I don't think the stg 1 is malfunctioning in your case, as you're still getting boost. But if the boost is falling on its face, when you hammer it, then I would have the map sensor checked by a mechanic, just to make sure it is not hit by the A/C compressor at full boost.

that's ...i get full boost 25psi with my trifecta 100% of the time no matter if it's 10 degrees or 110 degrees..i think those gm kits are pooh. even when i had the hahn on,boost at 20 psi all the time.

Thats what I was saying more or less in my first post, poor connections.

I even soldered my own upper and lower sensors yesterday while I had the bumper off just for peace of mind down the road.
I will say this, the gm tech who installed mine looks like he did it right though, but still better safe then sorry.

When your driving at highway speeds the turbo spools slower resulting in lower psi, if you notice from a stop u boost up too the 23 psi because the engine is putting all of its power through the turbo right to the wheels. When your going 60+ your already using soo much power that it does not have enough to spool out your turbo. If you down shift it into Neutral since u have a auto, allow your rpms to drop put it in gear and you will notice how much power that you gain from that, it allows the ecu to reset, and allows full boost. Otherwise you can over boost :) Good Luck with everything. This is all trail and error by my self because i also have an 08 auto and ive seen the same things so i put it to test.
