Anyone running 15w40?
What? An oil thread? And nobody gave me a heads up? LOL
Hummmm, ignore the specs in the manual and change viscosity - sounds like a great idea. Since my 2.4L went thru its pure synthetic WAY fast to the tune of a quart and a half in no time at all, jumping up to a 15w40 synthetic would seem to make sense. Maybe I should look into the availability of a 20w50 - or maybe Sleeper has a few quarts of 50w kicking around. :)
However.................. I think I will just stick with the manufacturer's recommendation on viscosity, and go change my oil right now by moonlight. Damn - dropped the drainplug............... Where is the flashlight?

whopper- sorry, forgot to shoot ya a heads up..
Yep, I have 50wt for my Flathead, & 20w 50 for the Evos..
But for my hhr, 5w 30 is just right.
You know where the drain plug will likely be, bottom of the drained hot oil pan.... That's where mine hides mostly anyhow.
