just go catless and switch back to stock dp for safety/emissions. not like the dp is hard to swap. if you need an inch, loosen up the catback and tighten it to the dp then tighten the catback back up. should beable to squeeze fit it lol.

Why not buy just 1 flange that mates from your rear DP to Cat and use 2 gaskets one for each side (in case you ever wanted to sell it), or have the flange welded to the rear Dp side and 1 gasket? Theres all kind of works around for something like that. I think your making it harder then it has to be.

I did this on a turbo project I did a few years back, but it was more of an adapter 2" long with a flange on each side with gaskets, worked perfect.

Think outside the box

I think this has been stated already, just buy an electric cut-out, and place it before the cats. Just be sure to hang a pipe to it so you are not flambe ing your gas-line. either Mightymouse or GCSD posted pics of the cut-out.

gcsd has one on his car. works really well. he knows which model because the motor stops working like every 2 years or so. think he has one that last awhile.

Hello Peevlos,
Where did you get the "SS" emblem for your grill Bowtie? Nice touch.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin.

I made it... cut the bow-tie out of Bakelite, painted it flat black. the SS is one of the ones off my door with color matched paint, inserted a piece of color matched aluminum inside to hide the holes in the grill.

Does anyone know off the top of their head if the Magnaflow exhaust setup comes with a down pipe? Something tells me it didn't.

I've trying using the "search button" but couldn't really find any info on this. What are the options for HHR SS owners for catted DP's?

Just a recap off the top of my head: Hahn, ZZP, Modern Performance and Dejon... Though IIRC Dejon only offers a catless DP; try the other 3 as they offer catted DP's.
