All of those websites have DP's for Colbalt Turbos. Are those direct fits for HHR SS's? Also, Ill have to check how many bung holes, haha, I'll need since I'm not how many things are plugged into my current DP due to the Performance Display.

Same engine so the exhausts are all pretty much PnP (plug n Play). Oh, and..... the more bung holes, the better!

So does anyone know of a downpipe made for the SS that CAN use an electric cutout? I was about to pull the trigger on Dejon's but they said their pipe would require unbolting (and rebolting) the plate under the cars DP. I was looking for one that actually had the option for a butterfly valve. I know hahn has one for the cobalt but its over 450 for a high flow cat and butterfly! Anyone able to help?

AFAIK any DP CAN use an electric cutout, but like anything else the DP has to be modified for it to fit + work right.

haun downpipe

I am currently running an intercooler upgrade and the haun single cat downpipe. The Trifecta tune is running around 23psi boost. I recently switch back to the stock downpipe, there isn't a huge difference inpower, I would only recommend it if your running more than stock boost. I drives much smoother and quieter with the stock one in, the biggest difference is over 5500 rpm, the high flow one pulls better after that. It also seems to backfire when driving part throttle (in traffic) when shifting from1st to 2nd. I installed the stock one back in because my clutch is now slipping in 3rd and up gears- even with sticky summer tires, it still spins a little in 2nd. The intercooler upgrade is good in warmer climates- 23 psi in 3rd gear only raises the boost temps 12 degrees above ambient! i woldn't bother with the cat after exhaust- if you notice, you can see thru the stock muffler and becides the exhaust going thru the turbo is squeezing thru a hole less than 1.5".

Will it void the warranty if you go with the catless dp?

3 Inch Space(r)

The 5 speed trucks can use the Cobalt SS/TC downpipe without modification. With automatics the motor is mounted at a slight angle which leaves a 1 inch gap with the Cobolt downpipe. The pipes can be pulled together and bolted up with the only side effect being the rear stainless tip 1 inch shorter and closer to the bumper cover.

There are a number of ways to fill the gap with a spacer or a modified DP. The spacer is fairly easy to build with a 1/2 inch piece of 3 inch pipe and two flanges. With the bolts head to head (if installed BEFORE welding) they can both be bolted up with two gaskets. With this type of spacer at least the bolts on one flange have to be installed before the second flange is welded on the pipe (you can install one bolt on each flange in diagonal holes so it is easier to weld; 4 bolts head to head make it hard to weld).

That depends on the dealer.
